As you know, Spain is a rich country with the wine culture. It is the third largest producer of wine in the world. But the most important is the high quality of product. Spain has a relatively large number of distinct wine-producing regions, the most popular region is “la Rioja”, which has fantastic wines but I have just writing that there are more.
Pla de Bages is a Spanish Denominación de Origen of my land (Bages), located in the province of Barcelona (Catalonia, Spain), and is one of the smallest DOs in Spain, covering only 600 hectares. The traditional local grape varieties are Grenache (here called Garnatxa) and Tempranillo (known locally as Ull de Llebre) for reds and Picapoll for whites. This kind of grape has become symbolic of the El Bages. I would like to recommened you to taste it, it’s delicious!
Currently there are 11 wineries registered in Pla de Bages D.O.: Masies d’Avinyó (Abadal), Celler Solergibert, Caves Gibert, Celler Coop. d’Artés, Mas de St. Iscle, Jaumandreu, Celler el Molí, Celler Coop. de Salelles, Oller del Mas, Fargas Fargas and Vins Grau.
We have another treasure: Cava. It is a Spanish sparkling wine made in the traditional method of the French sparkling wine Champagne. It originated in the Catalonia region at the Codorníu Winery in the late XIXth century. The wine was originally known as Champagne until Spanish producers officially adopted the term "Cava" (cellar) in 1970 in reference to the underground cellars in which the wines ferment and age in the bottle. The early Cava industry was nurtured by the phylloxera epidemic of the late 19th that caused the destruction and uprooting of vineyards planted with red grape varieties.
I would like to explain it more, but you will have to wait the next post!!!! Thanks to read!!

Mura is different!
Mura is a charming picturesque Catalan village. It’s one of the world places which is so special... this is my opion. It’s possible I feel that, because it’s my hometown. But if you follow this blog, you‘ll choose if this village is special or not.
Fristly, I would like to site in Bages, one of central regions of Catalonia (Spain); the people said that Bages is the heart of Catalonia.
Mura with a population of 233 is a small village where the people live on the tourism. It was documented in the year 959, that still maintains all his medieval charm with streets and squares that developed around the Romanesque church of St. Martin. This is one of the reasons that this place is chosen to shoot some flims.
At 454m of altitude, in the middle of the St. Llorenç del Munt i l’Obac Natural Reserve, Mura is surrounded by mountains' crests, torrents, deep pools, caves and springs that you will discover following some of the many tracks and paths. Between squares and small streets with traditional stone houses, very picturesque and well preserved, you can find Camil Antonietti street, the Church of Sant Martí, a flour windmill, or the chapel of St. Antoni. Inside its district you can enjoy de view of old restored Catalan farmhouses in harmony with the natural environment, some of them built in the rock as the Puig de la Balma or El Perich, and dry stone constructions as the vineyards shacks or the curious vats in the middle of the vineyard.
I would like you to learn more about my stuff, but you have to wait the next post. Thanks to follow me!

Wellcome "All about us"!
Wellcome "All about us"!
We are a spain family that we live in the town of Mura, which lies within the Natural Park of Sant Llorenç del Munt i la Serra de l’Obac (next to Barcelona).
We have a typical restaurant which was founded by the Perich family in 1964, since when it has grown thanks to the hard work of subsequent generations. Our restaurant is characterised by an extensive choice of delicious culinary options to suit every possible palate: from the most traditional dishes based on braised vegetables, stews and grilled meats to market-led cuisine. We always use fresh, seasonal produce including wild mushrooms, vegetables, game and regional products. We also feature some of our own signature creations such as a gratin of chickpeas with cod and garlic mayonnaise; potato, cured ham and foie millefeuilles, and entrecote or fillet steaks in Cal Carter style, not forgetting the traditional Mura dishes: poti-poti and baietó. We offer a wide range of desserts featuring our own home-made puddings as well as ice-creams.
We would like to share with you the information because we love our town and country. We will writting about different themes, for example places, food, catalan products,... We hope you will enjoy it!
